The Home Ranch is dedicated to providing the best service and experience possible to you and your guests. Overview As a luxury dude ranch in the summer and fall, and a warm and welcoming cross country ski resort in winter and spring, The Home Ranch is an idyllic Rocky Mountain hideaway, nestled in the aspens, amid the timeless beauty of the Elk River valley. The only Relais and Chateaux dude ranch in Colorado, we are renowned for our singular charm, refined comfort, exquisite cuisine and genuine hospitality.

For more than 30 years The Home Ranch has welcomed longtime returning guests, generations of extended families, and annual gatherings of old friends to our beloved guest ranch in Clark, CO. Our timeless setting amid the Elk River Valley and the slower pace of life in this corner of Colorado allows the time and space for people to reconnect and truly unwind. Our guests experience an atmosphere of homecoming here, and a genuine spirit of family and friendship. Many of our guests have the feeling that the ranch is their own retreat. We encourage that feeling here – and we are devoted to taking care of our guests as if they were part of our own extended family. The natural beauty of the valley, the community spirit of The Home Ranch, and its peaceful, homelike setting, has a way of slowing things down, bringing folks together, forging new friendships, and rekindling lifelong bonds. Event Planning

We are committed to ensure this event is as memorable and spectacular as a wedding should be! The Home Ranch can comfortably occupy 45 guests on ranch. This includes lodging and meals. While we have the space to host a wedding with more than 45 guests, anything over 45 guests will require you to be responsible for renting any items (i.e. tables, chairs, tents, plates and flatware, glasses, etc.) necessary to comfortably host all of your guests. This being said, The Home Ranch has great relationships with rental vendors and would be happy to assist you with this process. We also have many wonderful suggestions for any overflow guests you may have. 

Dining & Gourmet Cuisine

Strange bedfellows these two phrases. When some people think of “dude ranches” they picture a guy named Cookie whipping up bacon and beans in the sagebrush. Well, we are sorry to disappoint anyone who has such a colorful imagination, but as the only Colorado dude ranch with a membership in the prestigious Relais & Chateaux, we won’t beat around the bush: our food is truly amazing. The exquisite food at The Home Ranch has been called “haute mountain cuisine” and designated as “cooking of the highest standard.” We have been duly praised by Bon Appétit, Gourmet, Food and Wine, and we believe all who come to The Home Ranch should receive a culinary getaway of the highest order. People often wonder why our executive chef, Clyde Nelson, isn’t in some big city. The answer is simple. Clyde is “allergic to cities.” That is our great fortune. Clyde has always been a high country chef, drawn to life in the mountains, and steeped in the culinary traditions of the Old World. Clyde filters his classical, slow food aesthetic through a New Western approach, drawing on the seasonal bounty of the Rocky Mountain region. He grows his own produce in the summer and sources his game as close to home as possible. Our talented Chef has established a fabulous wedding menu and options that will cater to your every taste bud! We want to make sure your wedding menu is exactly what you are looking for so our Chef would be pleased to sit down with you to discuss the menu for your big day!

Our kitchen caters to guests with special dietary considerations. Just let us know in advance.

Menu Options

The Home Ranch has a few options available to you for your wedding reception menu. For parties of 45 or less we are happy to offer the option of a plated or a buffet station meal. For parties with more than 45 participants, we will help you create a menu for a buffet station to please all members of your group! If you are looking for something a little bit lighter, we also have the option of serving heavy or light hors d’vours throughout a period of the evening. Prices for passed hors d’vours are dependant on the chosen menu. For guests staying on ranch, the cost for the reception dinner is $15.00 per person. For off ranch guests attending the reception dinner, the cost is $75.00 per person. These rates are based off of our normal menu items and number of guests, and may need to be re-negotiated if the menu item chosen is out of our norm or guest counts increase or decrease. The Home Ranch also has a wide menu available for rehearsal dinners and can meet with you to determine what you would like to have served.

Depending on the number of participants, we can plate this meal for parties of 45 or less, or we can offer a beautiful buffet selection for parties over 45 people. Whether it is a casual “cookout” barbeque menu you are looking for, or an upscale fine dining experience, we will do our best to cater to your exact desires. As long as your menu selection is not above and beyond what the Home Ranch normally serves, we will include the rehearsal dinner for any guest staying on ranch. For off ranch guests, the rehearsal dinner is $50.00 per person attending. These rates are based off of our normal menu items and number of guests, and may need to be re-negotiated if the menu item chosen is out of our norm or guest counts increase or decrease. Cakes & Wedding Desserts The Home Ranch is fortunate enough to have a Chef with an extensive talent to include wedding cakes! Our Chef would be happy to discuss options for your cake if you would like to have The Home Ranch make it for you. Pricing is determent upon number of guests and the design of your cake.

Alcohol Packages

The Home Ranch has the ability to bring in most alcohols and any special requests for your wedding if it is not already stocked in our on-site bar (4-5 different alcohols per event). Alcohol rates and packages can be negotiated and made specific for your event. Typically, if the alcohol is being paid for by the wedding party, a running tab is kept for each drink and bottle consumed and then is paid for at the end of the stay. This can be arranged for specific times or throughout the entire event. The Home Ranch strives to achieve a wine list appropriate for all pallets and occasions. Due to this our menu and prices can change unexpectedly/seasonally. Our Somelier would be happy to meet with you to discuss your bar menu to make sure it is exactly what you are looking for.

The Ceremony

Traditionally, the best location to have a wedding or any large event in the late spring (May) or fall seasons is behind our main lodge, just below the deck. This location sits on a level green field of grass, overlooks our pond, and has breathtaking views of the valley with Aspen trees shimmering in the background. When it comes to photos, memories, and special moments, this location is perfect! If you are looking for an indoor location for a smaller group, we have plenty of options to show you! In the winter the snow turns The Home Ranch into a winter wonderland but requires smaller parties for indoor ceremony and reception locations.

Choose from our living room with a grand fireplace, our scenic dining room (can seat up to 45), or our “Rec. Room.” Site Fee We want to make sure your wedding is everything you want it to be. With this said, we will assist with the ceremony location, set-up and take-down to ensure it is as worry and hassle free as possible for you and your guests. The Home Ranch will provide a location for your on and offranch guests to celebrate this everlasting moment with you for a site fee of $5,000.00. 2015

Wedding Rates Due to our full occupancy during our summer season our available dates for weddings and events are limited to our fall/winter dates of October – December and winter/spring dates of January — May (dates are based on current availability). During the winter months, we can only accommodate parties of 45 or less due to indoor space restrictions. Our regular guest rates average $995-$3,375 per night (based on 2 people per room/cabin). This being said, The Home Ranch recognizes the fact that this is a big event for you and your family and a group of this size is eligible for lower rates: All Inclusive Rates*: Lodge Room: $650.00 per night (based on 2 people per room) Cabin: $750.00 per night (based on 2 people per room) Additional person: $200.00 per night *Rates are all inclusive in respect of our 45 max occupancy including: lodging, three meals a day (reception meal requires an additional $15.00 per person), and all on ranch activities and equipment offered at the ranch. The inclusive rate excludes: Bar & Beverage Sales (alcohol and soft drink products), Massages, Yoga Classes, & any Off Property Activities such as White Water River Rafting, Rock Climbing, Golf, Dog Sledding, Snowmobiling, Down Hill Skiing, etc. Please keep in mind The Home Ranch wants this to be a very special event for you and want to ensure you and your guests are comfortable with everything. If you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call me so we can determine what would make you 100% confident about choosing us as your location. To have the ranch exclusively to yourselves during your event, we require a minimum of 30 guests and a two night minimum stay. Wedding Event Rentals We work with Colorado Event Rentals based in Steamboat Springs and have developed two packages to accommodate larger parties. This is a base price, any changes will result in a price change. You will coordinate with Colorado Event Rentals to pick out specific colors, dinnerware and glassware. Deposit & Cancellations The site fee is due upon acceptance and signing of the contract. An additional 25% non-refundable deposit will be due four months prior to your arrival date. The remaining 50%, to include all noninclusive charges, will be due no later than 10:00 AM upon the departure of your stay. Guests will be charged a 25% deposit upon booking. An additional 25% deposit is due 90 days prior to arrival. Final payment, to include all non-inclusive charges, will be due no later than 10:00 AM upon departure of their stay. If a cancellation is received outside of 90 days to their scheduled arrival there is a $100 per person cancellation fee. If cancellation is received within 90 days prior to arrival the entire deposit will be forfeited. If we are able to resell the entire reservation, we will return their deposit less the $100 per person cancellation fee.
